JSW Steel’s board approves more renewable power procurement

The Board of Directors of JSW Steel, a leading steel company in India, has approved a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to procure a total of 1,637 MW of renewable power for Vijayanagar, Dolvi, Salem, and Anjar plants, of which 375 MW has already been put into operation and another 580 MW will be operational by March 2025.

In addition, the board has earlier approved the procurement of 600 MW of hybrid renewable energy generation capacity at the Dolvi plant, including 200 MW of solar and 400 MW of wind, 60 MW at the Salem plant, and 210 MW at JSW Steel Coated Products.

The total renewable energy generation capacity procured by JSW Steel reached 2,507 MW. These additional capacities will be operational in the fiscal year 2027.
