On October 25, 2024, the US International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that there was a reasonable indication that the US industry was materially injured by imported corrosion-resistant steel products from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, the UAE, and Vietnam.

US steel companies, including Steel Dynamics, Nucor Corporation, United States Steel Corporation, United Steelworkers, Wheeling-Nippon Steel, filed petitions on September 5 this year to alleged the US industry was materially injured or threatened with material injury by subsidized imports of corrosion-resistant steel products from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam and dumped-priced imports of corrosion-resistant steel products from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, the UAE, and Vietnam.

Therefore, the USITC launched a countervailing duty (CVD) investigation and anti-dumping (AD) duty investigation on the subject products from the above-mentioned countries.
